THE BYGONE WORDS

Windblown

Let the wind take me away

Like the tiny trifling dust

Separated from the massive earth

Far from where I stand.

Let the wind take me away

Like the fragile dried leaf

Apart from the sturdy bough

Far from where I suspend.

Let the wind take me away

Like the exhausted little bird

Departed from the safest sanctuary

Far from where I nest.

Let the wind take me away

Like the weary sailing boat

Deserted in the heart of the ocean

Relishing the state of solitude.

Let me flee, away from the world.

Let me escape along with the wind.

Rhapsody of Heart

Love, nothing but love that sings

Humming the sweetest chant ever heard

Heart whistling for the dearest beau

The rapture of melodic heartbeats

Playing the sincerest tune of devotion

Love, nothing but love that sings

Delivering the vow of felicity, of love

Lips trumpeting the divinest harmony

The ensemble of the heaven’s choir

Enthusing the warmth of a lover’s touch

Love, nothing but love that sings

Bequeathing endless life to a loving heart

To play the music for the precious paramour

To sing the incomparable lyrics of the love song

Love, the lively rhythm of heart’s rhapsody

Reincarnation

For the love that was endless is not anymore

As the oceans ran out dry,

As the heat of the sun died away,

As the heavens fell down,

And the universe dissolved.

And everything has perished. Nothing is infinite, no more.

Death has stolen everything at once

Selfishly taken love and life, left nothing behind.

Desolation surrounds the perpetual loss.

Mourn, until deadened by longing and bereavement.

Grieve, until everything will resume. Wait, as said.

Wait, as promised. Dearest forsaken, wait

Until the ocean water gushes on gasping veins,

Until the sun reheated the freezing soul,

Until the heavens ascend and awaken the vanishing spirit,

And the universe conspires to unite the parted once again.

Wait until forever becomes forevermore.

Wait until the love returns and life reincarnates.

Kaunting Salat Ng Langit

Langit bang maituturing ang himpapawiring

Ubod nang taas? Mistulang kawalan na

Kailanma’y hindi maaabot ng munting ulirat

Na nakabaon sa lupang walang bahid ng

Kariwasaan—para sa mga pakpak na nakalipad

At nakalasap ng kaunting salat ng langit.

Langit bang maituturing ang alapaap ng

Kahangalan?

Picturesque

Sublime face that illuminates

Has overpowered the burning rays of the sunrise,

Like the gleaming light of the morning sun

On a perfect ambiance of summer days.

Incandescent smile after the mournful cries

Is like the daylight warmth after a woeful night,

Hours of darkness will fade away

As the radiant sunshine starts to glare.

Serene voice that hums with charm

Joins the wave of the peaceful seas,

Like the persuading sound of water foams

Reflected by the sapphire skies.

Along the shore with playful surfs

Lies ahead an unwinding horizon

Where the sun will set as twilight comes

And the sea breeze whispers with lovely mists.

Dazzling eyes that twinkle

Outshine the stars above the heavens,

Like shining diamonds on a dusky universe

Where thousands of tiny pearls surrounds.

In the vast expanse of sleeping firmament

Where darkness embraces the entire sphere,

There is the moon that silvery aglow

A cosmic light on a tranquil eventide.

Oh! What perfection from a distant view

Yonder the picturesque—you.

Conditions

If I could only teach my heart,

It is not you whom I will love

For it is not love which I receive

But pain and pure displease.

If I could only teach my heart,

I will remind myself a hundred times

That love must be sacrificial

So I can bear the reprimands of loving you.

If I could only teach my heart,

I will disengage to what I believe is true

That what we have is a genuine love

But a mere idiocy of affection.

If I could only teach my heart,

I will always have faith in love

That love is unconditional

So I will not await to be loved back.

If I could only teach my heart,

I will teach what is real and what is not

It ought to see what love is and what love is not

And if I could only teach my heart,

Perhaps I will know if there is love or there is none.

Only When I Write

It is only when I write that our love may endure

Only when I write and write for you.

When I write I think of you, I think

Of how I will contain love in every word

Of how I will utter my sincerest devotion

Of how feelings will encompass every line

And envelop it with fondness and adoration.

When I write we truly belong, in which

My thoughts are bounded by love

The love that intensifies my longings

The plea of my soul to be with you

Every single day of my life until the end.

When I write we unite, our hearts entwined

Only when I write that I can rule our fate

The chance of having you and loving you endlessly

I will not cease to write for you

For fear of putting an end to my trance, our love.

Because it all ensues when I write,

Only when I write and write for you.

Unfinished

Is it the pen? The spilled ink? Or the time?

Time that is fast or the time to let go?

Nonetheless, unfinished.

Few more pages before the happy ending

But it ended too soon, before the real ending

Is to be written by the writer’s pen.

Every scribble of the pen is like

A race with the time that flies too fast, even

Faster than the winged sandals of Hermes.

Is it because the spilled ink impaired

The entirety of every page, in need

To write everything again and again

From the very start, from the very first day

With every details, with every memory?

Or is it the time to let go and finally

Cross the edge of two different worlds?

But the time runs too fast

With a very little chance to win the race.

To be able to read every single word

And remember every memory before

Reaching the happy ending,

They are about to happen soonest

If only the race against time is won.

Or maybe it is not the pen nor the spilled ink

But because it is time to depart and say adieu

Even before the real ending is to be written.

After all, it is not going to be a happy ending.

For being parted by death will never be

An ending that is happy. Never it will be.

Let it be that way. Unfinished.

Romeo’s Death

Thy love for me I used to believe

That killing thee, my Romeo I cannot conceive

Thou hast no mercy on me my dear

And now, stealing thy life I do not fear.

    Silent laughter instead of grief

The greatest revenge that brings relief

Finally, he is dead. My Romeo is dead.

And for that I will offer a flowerbed.

Flowers I offer with drops of blood

Flowers I offer with tears that flood

Flowers I offer for Romeo’s death

Flowers I offer for his last breath.

These gentle hands of mine killed him

The same hands that used to serve him

Now it is over for my Romeo is dead

‘I will no longer suffer’, to myself I said.

As I close my eyes and sleep forever,

My heart too will have its painful slumber.

Yet before I die in my thoughts you are dead

‘This is enough’, to myself I said.

    Dancing With The Candlelight

    Their shadows come together

    As their bodies come closer

    With the burning candlelight,

They dance with the music of the night.

    The candlelight flickers radiantly

    Just like their vibrant eyes,

    The candlelight sways gracefully

    Just like them dancing perfectly.

Closer and closer their bodies become

As they dance with the candlelight.

Holding her near him is enough to

Trigger the burning desire within them.

Feeling the beat of each other’s heart,

Sensing the heat of each other’s skin,

Relishing the smell of each other’s breath

Closer and closer their bodies become

As they dance with the candlelight.

    Their shadows come together

    As their bodies come closer

The nakedness of their body brings warmth even

Warmer than the burning flame of the candlelight.

    The fire of physical urge,

    The passion of bodily obsession,

    The excitement of gentle persuasion

Closer and closer their bodies become

As they dance with the candlelight.

    As the flame dies away

And the music stops to play

Their body will continue to sway

With the music of the night

    While dancing with the candlelight.

    Sonnet of the Paper Flower

‘Twas skillfully folded by his own hands

A piece of paper that is clean and blank

As she received it, lots of reprimands

Cause later on, again her heart will sank.

      A paper flower bloomed magically,

Enough to make her cherish it more, for

It blossomed from his palms delightfully.

Alas! For love will not go furthermore.

Oh paper flower lovely and yellow

You know you make me fall, you really do

What would then will follow? Is it sorrow?

For it is hard to be in love with you.

Oh paper flower not anymore! Will

I fall for him although I love him still.

          I Fell: Her Response

          HIM:

I stretched my arms and tried to reach

But I can never get a hold

Of your beauty. I can only

Jump as high as I can

          Never worry of falling

To no one’s arms. I tend to chase

          What forever’s work cannot give

          And lust can only imagine.

          What desperation

Eyes closed, breath held. I took

A giant leap of faith. Unsure of

What I’ll reach, where I’ll go

Hoping. Begging for a miracle that

I, amongst others, will land by yourside.

          I fell. (B)

          HER:

I’ll stretch my arms and make it

Twice over of your attempt, whilst as I wish

That it is me whose beauty you long to own.

I can only watch you as you soar to reach

Her, but I am willing to catch you as you fall,

Down here my arms wait. I implore for

You to have what your heart desires and that

I may even change impossible to a promising one.

Parallel to what you feel, how forlorn I am!

My eyes mourning, my breath fading. This is

Because it is for her whom you bequeath your

faith, with her whom your hopes are uncertain,

With her whom you beseech for devotion.

Likewise, I beg for a miracle that I, instead

Of her, will be the one whom your heart will rest.

This piece of paper which I hold onto, I love,

          I fell.

Full Moon on a Winter Night

It is when I watch you, Oh moon

That I fall more deeply in love

As I have waited you from noon

‘Til this evening, for you my love

I can bear the cold winter night

Or even let my body iced

Oh how lovely your perfect light

It fills my heart with sweet delight!

I never feel tired watching you

From where I sit, I still feel pleased

As your radiance turns white to blue

Never will I let you be missed.

Truly, I adore the full moon

Since I was little up to now.

Sincerely, I love the full moon

That no words can define somehow.

The first night of my December

Is devoted for my dear moon

I’ll not give in with the winter

So cold that it might kill me soon.

The full moon on a winter night

                    Is even divine than before

Oh full moon on a winter night

I swear, I’ll wait for you once more.

                    Iris

                    Staring at those wonderful

Eyes of yours is pleasurable yet

It kills, like in every second

                    Of watching those irises move

Is equivalent to every shot of

Toxic, I choke and I laugh

For I love the feeling of sweet pain.

                    Look here I said, look.

One one thousand, two one thousand,

                    Three…and you looked my way.

Four one thousand and our eyes met.

Those deep blue irises stared with mine

                    Directly, expressively, deadly.

Five one thousand, everything went black

Except those irises, so blue, so deep.

My soul was engulfed. Tic toc tic toc

Ten one thousand and I was hypnotized.

Empty corridor with dried rose petals

Spread along the way. Something pricked

My foot that is bare, thorns.

I walked, I followed those irises while

                    Blood drips in every step.

                    Dried rose petals, thorns, blood.

Those eyes, those irises, so deep and blue.

I counted again, tic toc tic toc

One one thousand, still looking at

                    Those irises. Two one thousand,

                    Three…and you’re holding me

Closely, I was able to look at those

                    Irises intimately. Four one thousand,

Blood. Deep blue irises that bleeds.

Pain and suffering and sorrow, so deep.

Five one thousand and I close my eyes.

I breathe, heavily and hardly. Ten one thousand

And I still see those wonderful irises, deep and blue.

It is time, I said. I open my eyes

I free my self from the clench of death,

Of love, of affection. I free my soul

From pain and suffering and sorrow so deep.

After this, I will count again. Ten one thousand,

I’ll be back where I belong, with you.

Within those irises, so deep and blue.
